Semester Plan

This semester I want to create a style and look that is specific to me as an artist.  I want this to relate to me and the foundation of who I am but not in an obvious way.  Although, these places and subject matter may seem mundane to some, they are very important to me and this will show through the images.  My hope is to create strong images while focusing on the powerful role of light in am image.

Some of my goals for this semester include the following:

1.     Think more creatively.  I am the only one who Is limiting myself

2.     Be proud of the work I produce even though not everyone will like it

3.      Find a unique, interesting and different way to display the final project.

4.     Improve and become more confident at writing an artist statement.

Some themes that interest me is the way that natural light has such an impact on these images.  If the natural light wasn't so strong and evident in these images they wouldn't be nearly as successful.  Some other themes that interest me include the black and white image as well as the different architecture found within these locations.  To my surprise, every barn has something unique about it.
